What the role is

This traineeship is with the Digital Industry SG team in IMDA. DISG is a joint office between IMDA, EDB, and Enterprise Singapore, and is set up as the single interface of the Singapore government for the digital industry. We strive to build and develop a vibrant tech ecosystem through partnering with high potential global and local tech companies. Our aim is to make it easy for tech companies and talent to thrive and grow.



This traineeship role focusses on tech landscape analysis and account management to inform the development of strategies and value propositions for Singapore’s digital economy. The trainee will develop competencies in assessing the emerging tech landscape, shaping potential ecosystem-supporting plays, managing stakeholders, and identifying relevant interventions to support the growth of tech companies.

What you will be working on

 1. Tech and business analysis  

 

  • Conduct open-source research into emerging tech (e.g. AI models, agentic/embodied AI, trust technologies)  

  • Assess implications and opportunities for Singapore  

 

2. Eco-system plays 

 

  • Support the operationalisation of projects/initiatives to accelerate capabilities and adoption of emerging tech 

 

3. Account management  

  • Understand companies’ growth or transformation plans to jointly identify areas of collaboration or intervention with DISG  

  • Help scope and manage the administration of key projects with companies 

  • Recommend relevant interventions for companies and provide grant management support

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
