What the role is

Join IMDA's Digital Readiness Cluster and contribute to building an inclusive digital society in Singapore that leaves no one behind. This traineeship offers an opportunity to work on nationally significant programmes including the Digital for Life Movement, while developing competencies in policy research, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and digital technology analysis. You will gain exposure to cross-government collaboration, international engagement, and the translation of research insights into policy strategies that shape Singapore's digital inclusion landscape.

What you will be working on

Digital Readiness Research and Analysis 

  • Support research and analysis for digital literacy and wellness initiatives, including the next iteration of Digital Skills for Life and online safety skills programmes 

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather data, insights and feedback on digital readiness initiatives 

  • Support project planning and implementation timelines for digital readiness programmes 

Foresight Studies and Strategic Translation 

  • Conduct foresight studies focusing on emerging trends in digital skills development, including the next evolution of Digital Skills for Life and Digital Parenting initiatives 

  • Analyse technological trends, demographic shifts, and societal changes that may impact digital readiness 

  • Translate research findings and foresight studies into actionable strategies for Digital Readiness 

  • Develop policy recommendations based on research insights and stakeholder feedback

International Engagement Support 

  • Prepare comprehensive briefing materials for Digital Readiness Cluster's international activities and engagements 

  • Research global best practices in digital literacy and wellness programmes 

  • Support preparation for international conferences and bilateral discussions 

What we are looking for

  • Relevant background in Public Policy, Information Systems, or related disciplines. Technology preferred but not required.  

  • Digital literacy and technology awareness 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Good communication skills and stakeholder engagement

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
