What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

We are seeking a motivated HR trainee to join our Human Resource department and gain hands-on experience across key HR functions. This traineeship offers exposure to recruitment processes, data analytics, and event management within a dynamic organisational environment.

What you will be working on

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Support - You will assist the recruitment team in sourcing and screening candidates for various positions. Responsibilities include posting job advertisements, conducting initial resume screening, and maintaining candidate databases. You will also assist with reference checks and background verification, and get a chance to learn about the different Applicant Tracking System (ATS) used in Public Service. HR Analytics and Data Management - Using advanced Excel functions, you will support data-driven HR decision making through comprehensive analytics. This includes maintaining HR dashboards and generating reports on employee demographics. The role requires proficiency in Excel functions including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation, and basic statistical analysis to transform raw HR data into actionable insights. HR Events Coordination - You will be part of the HR team that plans and executes various HR events including the promotion ceremony, employee engagement sessions and management engagement sessions. Responsibilities encompass venue coordination, vendor management and attendee registration.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with knowledge of advanced functions and data analysis techniques Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Experience in event planning is advantageous

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
