Management of the used water network in Singapore is key in safeguarding public health. Used water is also a water resource. By collecting every drop of used water and ensuring every drop is fit for recycling, NEWater is produced as a sustainable source of supply to meet Singapore’s water demand.
You will be part of the team responsible for protecting our used water network. As an engineer in the Planning & Design Division, you will oversee the implementation of sewerage projects from planning to end of construction closely, so as to ensure that sewers are completed in time to serve developments. Your main roles and responsibilities would include:
• Monitor progress of the implementation of sewerage expansion/relief projects and provide updates when required.
• Arrange, coordinate and perform secretariat duties for sewer expansion project meetings.
• Consult relevant authorities e.g. HDB, LTA, URA to obtain their in-principle no objections for the proposed sewerage expansion/relief projects.
• Develop cost norms and maintain an updated database of cost norms for estimation of the cost of proposed sewerage expansion/relief projects.
• Draft papers to seek approval of funds from the relevant authorities e.g. MSE, MOF for sewerage expansion/relief projects.
• Plan expenditure phasing and work out project implementation schedules including timing for various approvals at different levels, in preparation of various budgets e.g. inputs to PUB’s IT system for CAPEX budgeting of sewerage expansion/relief projects, 5-year block budget
