What the role is
What you will be working on
The Mosque Executive Chairman chairs the Mosque Management Board and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the mosque and ensuring that it fulfills its religious and community obligations, enabling the mosque to be a vibrant and welcoming hub of religious and community life, including promoting social cohesion and harmony in the local community.
Executive Functions
- Preside Board meetings and setting the agenda to ensure a successful resolution to any issues affecting the mosque
- Manage mosque finances: budgeting, fundraising, and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported.
- Oversee the mosque staff: hiring, training, and managing employees and volunteers.
- Ensure mosque's facilities are well-maintained: overseeing repairs and maintenance and ensuring that the mosque is clean and presentable at all times.
Community Collaboration and Outreach
- Organize religious and community events: Friday prayers, Eid celebrations, and other events that promote community engagement and social cohesion.
- Engage local community: building relationships with other religious and community leaders and working to promote inter & intra-faith dialogue and understanding.
Policy Execution and Oversight
- Ensure that the administration of the mosque and the management, conduct and delivery of programs and services, are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations and MUIS’ policies & guidelines; including those related to building codes, safety, manpower and religious practices.
Social Development
- Demonstrate a good awareness of the social development needs and ensure proper oversight of programs and services that benefit the Zakat beneficiaries served by the mosque.
What we are looking for
- Tertiary qualifications with at least 5years(s) of working experience with exposures to leadership, organisational management and community engagement roles
- Good leadership and management skills with analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, influencing and stakeholder engagement
- Passion to serve the community.
There are three vacancies available for this post.
Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.
