What the role is

Family Life Group (FLG), under the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) aims to strengthen and support families through their different life stages, to realise the vision of making Singapore the best place for family life through our policies, programmes and publicity efforts. Inter-Generational Support Division (IGS) encourages pre-planning through the Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), protects the dignity and safeguards the interests of vulnerable persons lacking mental capacity (P) through deputyship supervision, supports the reconciliation of families and the adjudication of maintenance claims by parents against their children. Brief Description of the job: You will be joining the case management team within IGS to maintain a handled post LPA registration matters, supervise court-appointed deputies of persons without mental capacity and provide conciliation at the Office of the Commissioner for the Maintenance of Parents.

What you will be working on

• Review deputy reports to ensure that deputy has properly managed and accounted for P’s property and affairs and personal welfare matters in accordance with the court order; and acted in P’s best interests. • Follow up with deputies to seek clarifications, particularly on non-compliance of court orders. • Identify discrepancies or areas of concerns in deputy reports and initiate and oversee the rectification process, through clear communication to deputies on required rectification and deadlines. • Assess the need for early intervention and manage the process of requesting early reports from deputies when circumstances warrant increased oversight. • Preparation of court reports providing assessment and recommendations, as directed by the Family Justice Court. • Arrange for Board of Visitors (BOV) home visits (where necessary) and submit BOV reports to the Family Justice Court as directed • Leverage on technology tools and data analytics to streamline and enhance the review of deputy reports, improving efficiency and accuracy in identifying potential issues or discrepancies. • Identify opportunities for automation and streamline deputy report filing.

What we are looking for

• Tertiary qualifications, in Business or Finance • Professional background in accounting, auditing or banking sector will be an added advantage • Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple, complex cases simultaneously, coupled with advanced risk assessment skills • Comfortable with handling data and working on IT system enhancements. • Good problem solving and system thinking skills, with an eye for details • Able to work, communicate and engage well with internal and external stakeholders • A team player who is willing to commit to a fast paced albeit fulfilling work • Smart tools, GenAI and LLM experience The office location is at Bishan.
