What you will be working on

Responsibilities The Data Office champions the overall HR data strategy for the whole-of-government and PSD. We are responsible for end-to-end solutioning to allow PSD to use data effectively in developing its policies and programmes, as well as to drive adoption and evolution of HR data analytics across the public service. To achieve this, the team leads initiatives to refine existing practices and approaches to HR data analytics, encompassing the full spectrum of activities across the data lifecycle, including strategy, governance, analysis, collection, management, engineering, operations and advice. [Specific Job Responsibilities] The incumbent will be part of the Data Engineering & Infrastructure team supporting the operations and enhancement of an IT system, which is a central repository of data from HR systems to facilitate whole-of-government analysis and reporting. As part of the Data Engineering & Infrastructure team, you will: • Support the Team Lead by collaborating with vendors, source system owners, and business users to ensure the successful implementation of systems and delivery of target business outcomes. o Collaborate with source system owners to deliver new or enhanced interface files in compliance with the required timeframes. o Understand and translate business requirements from business users into system requirements. • Participate in the subsequent system enhancement projects by: o Reviewing Change Requests (CRs), Service Requests (SRs), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans. o Providing business requirements and working with upstream system owners to identify and resolve system issues and data gaps. o Executing test cases and reviewing feedback collected during UAT. o Developing scripts (e.g., SQL, Python) to automate and digitise data processing. • Support system maintenance and operations with proper documentation to ensure smooth system functionality. • Enable fulfilment of data requests from internal and external stakeholders by developing new data sources and workbooks using tools such as Athena and Tableau.

[Work Experience, Competencies] An ideal candidate should possess the following: • [Thinking Clearly and Making Sound Judgement] Ability to examine complex problems and propose possible solutions, demonstrating good problem solving and root cause identification skills. • [Working Effectively with Stakeholders] Strong communications and stakeholder management skills, adept at exploring issues from a user-centric perspective and contributing to a collaborative working environment. • [HR Data Management] Keen interest in HR data management and good understanding of data management and data quality concepts. Familiarity with HR processes will be an added advantage. • [Experience in HR Enterprise Systems, Data Lake/Warehouse, Visualisation Tools] Prior experience in enterprise systems in HR (SAP, Workday, Oracle), management of data lake/warehouse (AWS, SQL), data visualisation tools will be an added advantage.
