What the role is

You will be part of the team that is responsible for the management of an estate management system to deliver analytics and artificial intelligence solutions across various estate management functions (i.e. facilities management, retail, and housing related issues). The data scientist distils useful insights from the wealth of collected data from various systems and modules, and translate them into actionable follow-ups for HDB to better serve our residents and stakeholders. It covers the full spectrum of HDB asset types (e.g. residential, commercial, car parks, social and communal facilities, lands).

What you will be working on

Project manage, research and deploy artificial intelligence / machine learning tools and techniques to formulate practical solutions for housing, facilities and retail management for our stakeholders and to infuse practical, realistic value that will elevate our service delivery. • Operationalise a next-generation knowledge management tool powered by large language models and other AI tools, with capabilities that extend to chatbot interactions and agentic workflows. • Elevate the management of properties by adopting machine learning techniques to predict retail and facility management issues (e.g. deriving and automating valuation, predicting defects, forecasting termination etc.). • Implement the end-to-end deployment of data science and business intelligence tools such as MLOps tools, dashboards, reports and system alerts to improve the productivity and efficiency of our workflow. As part of change management, reach out and educate our internal stakeholders on available self-help tools, features, that can be used to glean insights for sharper informed planning and decision making.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who is resourceful and independent. You should also possess strong analytical skills as well as excellent communication and writing skills. Background in real estate, facilities management and/or geospatial analysis would be advantageous but not required. The candidate should possess a relevant background (i.e. Bachelor’s, Master’s etc.) and the following skillsets/qualifications or similar training is required: • Data Science • Artificial Intelligence • Computer Science • Business Analytics • Applied Math/ Stats/ Economics with proficient background in analytical tools such as Python, R, PowerBI etc. Successful candidates will be offered a 1 year contract as a start.. Conversion to perm is dependent on good performance.
