You are responsible for overseeing the management and utilisation of operational data within respective Service Operations Departments while playing a crucial role in strategy development, process improvement, stocktaking and data exploitation to enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness for the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).

What you will be working on
- Design and manage processes to gather data from various sources across the SAF
- Conduct comprehensive stocktakes and cataloguing of data to identify priorities and establish standards
- Develop and implement proper data assets management standard operating procedures and workflows across Data Life Cycle (from data acquisition, fusion, access and distribution to disposal).
- Maintain overall oversight of data policy, governance, and service-level agreements to enforce compliance
- Develop, implement, and govern Service Operations Data Strategy including defining key business outcomes, objectives and key results
- Ensure data quality by running checks and cleaning data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Protect sensitive data from unauthorised access or breaches
- Support projects involving data requirements
- Collaborate with relevant departments to build staff literacy, competency, and capabilities in data management
- Lead and coordinate workplans across Services Departments and relevant stakeholders while establishing cross-service data quality
Challenge(s)
- Having good understanding of Services' operations, work processes, and data landscape to work with relevant operations owners and develop synchronised efforts to meet the SAF's data requirements
- Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to integrate legacy data into modern data lakes or hubs
- Coordinating and overseeing multiple data-related initiatives as older systems store data in silos with non-standard formats
What we are looking for
- 6 years of experience in related field
- Experience in data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices
- Education in Data Science, Computer Science or a related field
- Meticulous with good stakeholder management and excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in developing and implementing data strategies and workflows
- Data cataloguing, metadata management, and quality assurance skills
- Strong project management abilities
