What the role is

We are seeking an experienced lawyer to serve as director of a branch in IRAS’ Law Division. You will lead a branch that contributes to the technical and administrative strength of IRAS through various functions such as advisory, litigation, prosecution, legislation and/or corporate counsel work.

As Director, you will be part of the IRAS Law Division’s management team and report directly to the Chief Legal Officer. You will lead a team of highly motivated legal officers committed towards protecting the interests of Singapore and IRAS. This role requires sharp legal acumen, capable leadership, teamwork and a commitment to delivering fair, practical and legally sound solutions.

What you will be working on

Key Responsibilities

Supervise the provision of legal advice on IRAS’ tax, administrative and corporate functions.
Oversee and lead in court work.
Collaborate with tax policy teams and supervise the drafting of tax legislation.
Mentor and guide legal officers, fostering professional growth and excellence.

What we are looking for

Excellent law degree and admission to the Singapore Bar
Experience in prosecution or defence work, and in advisory work
Commitment to delivering excellence in the public service
Capable leadership and people management skills
Collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams
