What the role is

Develop, manage and facilitate Data Policies, Projects and Platforms, spearhead data governance initiatives and maintain, review and grow data assets across MUIS & its subsidiaries.

What you will be working on

  • Develop MUIS data management framework (including policies, standards, and practices).

  • Drive implementation of framework internally (within MUIS) and externally (with government, community organisation and other stakeholders).

  • Lead development of data governance aligned with relevant regulatory, national and community needs.

  • Oversee and facilitate governance structures, roles, and responsibilities to support effective data stewardship and accountability.

  • Work with MUISians (employees of MUIS) to improve data quality, including data-driven transformation initiatives.

  • Promote data literacy to empower MUISians to confidently use, protect and share data through appropriate consultancy, training and guidance.

  • Foster a data-driven culture within MUIS through application of daily best practices.

  • Support MUIS leadership and relevant Ministry-level Data Workgroup platforms related to the above focus areas.

  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities related to this role as may be assigned by the organisation from time to time.

What we are looking for

  • Tertiary educations in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or Knowledge Management. Graduates of other disciplines with relevant experience are welcome to apply.

  • Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in data governance, project and/or data management, including an understanding of data governance frameworks, principles and best practices.

  • Able to communicate data concepts to diverse group of stakeholders simply and impactfully.

  • Comfortable working with diverse data sets.

  • Familiar with local and/or regional and/or international regulatory environments in the private and/or public sector and their appropriate applications to Data.

  • Resourceful self-starter able to work independently and as a team member.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and orientated to pursue lifelong learning.

  • Demonstrates a strong community orientation and purpose.

  • Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills.

Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.
