What you will be working on
- Design, develop and deliver applied Mathematics and Science curricula to students.
- Lead and/or represent the school in committees such as in-reach, out-reach, academic operations and student development, as and when required.
- Identify and spearhead new opportunities, initiatives and collaborations within the polytechnic and/or with industry partners.
- Plan, lead, manage and undertake projects or co-developed training courses with internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan, develop and deliver Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes for adult learners and industry partners.
- Conduct and contribute to research efforts in teaching and learning.
- Perform academic, administrative and other related duties as assigned.
- Mentor and guide students in both academic and personal development.
What we are looking for
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Physics or Statistics.
- At least 2 years of relevant work/industrial experience in a related field, preferably involving applications of Mathematics and/or Science.
- Possess relevant knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- Design and development of curricula in applied Mathematics
- Pedagogy and effective teaching/assessment practices
- Good IT skills and competency in working with online learning platforms
- Use of Excel for data analysis, reporting and instructional support
- Strong communication and good interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
- Candidates who are conversant in blended learning, tech-enabled teaching tools and project-based learning will have an advantage.
