What the role is

Under this internship, the intern will be attached to the Outreach West Section/Community Partnerships Department in HDB’s Community Relations Group, to support the department in design work.

What you will be working on

The Community Partnerships Department carries out public-facing engagements and initiatives, which will require proper comms and publicity to residents. During your internship, you will have the opportunity to transform HDB's public engagement through creative design. You will also be involved in crafting compelling visual narratives for community initiatives, mastering both print and digital mediums, focusing on Public Education content on Neighbourliness. You will develop a professional portfolio while gaining hands-on experience in the entire design process, from concept to production. This role offers a unique blend of creative work and public service, ideal for aspiring designers passionate about making a social impact. You will also be involved in the preparation and execution for community engagement initiatives, e.g. reviewing of the Good Neighbours Movement webpage and publicity collaterals, physical roadshow events and school outreaches etc. Additionally, you will also develop expertise in creating impactful communications across various platforms, from crafting social media content to designing public education materials. This internship provides a unique blend of creative work and community engagement, perfect for those looking to make a tangible impact while building a versatile skill set for their future career. Applicant should have an eye for design, detail and accuracy. You should also be proficient in Adobe creative suite (eg. Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and social media platforms/design software (Canva). Familiarity with video creation software such as Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro would be an advantage. As the scope also involve interactions with members of the public, applicants should also be articulate and comfortable interacting with people of all ages.
