[MOF Summer Internship] Intern, Grants Governance Office

What the role is

Applications for the Ministry of Finance (MOF) Summer Internship Programme are now open. As an MOF intern, you will gain valuable insights and contribute to projects that support national policy-making and shape the everyday lives of Singaporeans. Interns are required to commit at least 10 weeks between May to Aug 2026. MOF's Grants Governance Office Directorate is looking for undergraduates to undertake the following project(s). Note: You are welcome to apply for internships/projects with different MOF Directorates if the topics suit your interest and experience. If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to indicate your preferred project(s) prior to the selection interview. We will take into account your preferences in the final allocation, subject to our resourcing needs. Applications close 31 Dec. Kindly note that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

What you will be working on

Project #1: Research on grants governance frameworks The public sector gives out a wide range of grants, where needs differ according to recipients, purpose, accessibility, and other aspects. To strengthen grants governance, MOF's Grants Governance Office formulates and review policies to address emerging risks of fraud and abuse as well as audit observations related to grants management. These issues present opportunities to improve grants governance through robust processes, systems, and technology enablers. You will conduct research on how other countries implement policy frameworks, including the adoption of Tech/Artificial Intelligence solutions, compare their good practices, and make recommendations to further strengthen MOF’s grants governance framework.

What we are looking for

• A background in finance, accounting and economics preferred • Keen interest in public policy work, particularly in the area of financial governance • Strong critical thinking and analytical and writing skills
