What the role is

As Specialist/Senior Specialist (Research & Technology Office) of Technology & Engineering Department, you are part of the team to drive applied research and development work for emerging and cross-cutting technology domains, coordinate the technology roadmap with the Water Master Plan, and work with Operations departments to resolve operational issues and future challenges.

What you will be working on

Your main roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: • Keep abreast of the latest technological trend and build deep technical expertise in the emerging and cross-cutting areas, e.g. decarbonisation / carbon removal / carbon capture, storage & utilisation / hydrogen economy etc through regular technical review and analysis. • Initiate R&D projects with research collaborators and carry out technical evaluation of R&D proposals or new technologies to assess its feasibility and suitability in meeting PUB/Singapore’s current and future needs. • Closely manage R&D projects with multiple stakeholders to ensure the projects meet their objectives, deliverables and timeline and enable their quick translation / deployment to bring value to PUB/Singapore. • Facilitate the site preparation and site supervision for construction, installation, and commissioning of flagship carbon removal project. • Assist in operational and administrative aspects of the flagship demonstration project and compiling key insights and learning points and provide regular update to manager and senior management. • Quantify the outcome of the R&D investment through Return on Investment (ROI) and / or Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) • Front and account manage key partnerships of international organisations / external stakeholders. • Assist in developing technology roadmaps with input from multiple stakeholders / strategic planning for funding initiatives.

What we are looking for

• Degree in Engineering • Candidates with at least 5 years’ experience, practical knowledge and/or deep expertise in the following areas i.e. decarbonisation / carbon removal / carbon capture, storage & utilisation / hydrogen economy etc. will be preferred • Good writing and communication skills • Self-motivated and passion in building technical expertise • Strong analytical and systematic thinking • Works well independently and also a resourceful team player
