The Government Digital Product (GDP) Team at GovTech drives the digital transformation of the Singapore Government. Within GDP, the Digital Society Products (DSP) team delivers high-impact digital services across housing, community, social, transport, public service, and legal domains. Formerly known as DCUBE (Digital Design & Development), DSP is a crossfunctional team comprising product managers, designers, engineers, and security specialists. We are hiring a UX Lead to join a forward-deployed team supporting legal tech modernisation at the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
This is a senior individual contributor role, reporting to a UX Manager. You will lead end-to-end design work — from research and discovery through to prototyping and UI — for a suite of legal applications that support law enforcement, prosecutors, and policy officers. Your contributions will help shape how technology can enable access to justice.
What You’ll Do
You’ll lead design efforts across a portfolio of national legal systems undergoing a multi-year modernisation. Projects include:
1. Legislation drafting and publication platform
Redesign the authoring and approval experience for structured legislative content
2.Legal case management system
Work with legal officers to rethink and modularise how cases are tracked, managed, and resolved
3. Legal tools development
Design focused tools for legal research, drafting, and advisory support, decoupled from legacy platforms
4. Structured document workflows
Translate XML-based legal documents into usable, accessible digital interfaces, and support their migration to the Akoma Ntoso (AKN) standard
You’ll shape the user experience strategy across these tools — conducting discovery, facilitating workshops, and creating prototypes that improve usability while respecting the complexity of legal work. Many tools may incorporate AI functions (e.g. summarisation, retrieval) with design work focusing on clarity, trust, and system usability.
Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end design from user research through to UI handoff
Conduct discovery with legal officers and policy stakeholders to understand real-world needs and constraints
Translate domain complexity into structured service blueprints, user flows, and interaction patterns
Design and validate low- to high-fidelity prototypes using tools like Figma
Ensure accessibility, clarity, and usability across all legal interfaces
Collaborate with engineers and product managers to deliver usable, scalable solutions
Support the development of modular components and shared design practices across related tools
