The Community Courts and Tribunals (CCT) Cluster is a specialist cluster in the State Courts which oversees the Small Claims Tribunals, Employment Claims Tribunals, the Community Disputes Resolution Tribunals, Magistrate’s Complaints and the Protection from Harassment Court. To this end, the Cluster manages and hears civil claims relating to small value contractual disputes, employment disputes, harassment and other relational disputes, as well as criminal cases.
The successful applicant will report to the Deputy Director and be deployed to the Cluster to support registry operations and hearings, specifically in employment disputes.

What you will be working on
• Provide administrative support to judicial officers in the management of court and tribunal hearings.
• Provide case management support to judicial officers through processing applications and requests, fixing tribunal hearings, and following up with self-represented persons and lawyers as required.
• Assist self-represented persons with online filing of applications, submission of documents and other general enquiries.
• Prepare administrative and logistical arrangements for hearings, liaising with other clusters to support the conduct of the hearings.
• Perform the duties of a Court Officer for in-person hearings at the State Courts as needed.
• Arrange referrals of cases to other clusters and government agencies.
• Perform data entry and compilation of hearing statistics.
• Manage correspondences relating to court proceedings.
• Perform counter duties, as required.
What we are looking for
• At least 2 years of experience in administrative and secretarial support.
• Knowledge of MS Office suite of applications.
• Able to multi-task and work within tight deadlines.
• Meticulous, detailed and well-organised.
• Able to work well in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to demonstrate empathy, tact, and firmness when interacting with members of the public and litigants.
• Able to work effectively and confidently with a diverse group of stakeholders, including lawyers and judicial officers.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Desire to continuously learn and grow professionally, with a drive to seek constant improvements in operational processes and procedures.
Note: The successful candidate will be appointed on one-year probationary contract in the first instance.
