What the role is
You will need to undertake analysis to ascertain the technical viability of these technologies in Singapore and how they could meet the operational objectives. In fulfilling your responsibilities, significant amount of engagement and coordination with consultants, academia, government agencies and technology vendors would be required
What you will be working on
Planning for deployment of new and emerging energy technologies in Singapore
Oversees and coordinates tech planning efforts of new and emerging energy technologies, including but not limited to supply, grid infrastructure and energy storage technologies.
Scans and prospects for new energy technologies, conducts high-level technical assessments and evaluates their commercial viability.
Collaborates with other technology branches on deep-dive tech studies.
Assesses new concept of operations enabled by emerging energy technologies.
Sets up and refreshes technology prioritisation frameworks to guide development and deployment plans.
Facilitates and develops Operation-Technology Roadmaps (OTR) across departments.
Coordinates research & development efforts across EMA and interface with research performers.
What we are looking for
Good honours or post-graduate degree in Materials/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering or other relevant engineering-related qualifications.
Relevant working experience in the energy sector / future system planning or architecting would be an advantage.
Strong understanding of technology concepts and trends, with the ability to assess techno-economic and policy implications.
Able to coordinate complex workstreams with multiple stakeholders such as vendors, consultants, Government agencies and the academia.
Excellent analytical, planning, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Knowledge and understanding of conventional and emerging energy technologies is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight timelines.
Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Committed team player with a passion for shaping Singapore's energy landscape.
