You will support MND Strategic Planning Division (SPD) in several projects. With increasing pace of change and uncertainty in the operating environment, SPD plays a critical role in stewarding Singapore’s limited land resources to meet the needs and aspirations of Singaporeans, while ensuring that land use remains sustainable, flexible, adaptable and resilient for the future. In particular, there are significant shifts in land planning that need to be made to tighten linkages with our economic strategy, as well as to meet the diverse accommodation needs of Singaporeans and foreigners.

What you will be working on
"The intern will support a critical project to identify and activate sites for housing Singapore's growing construction migrant worker population, ensuring adequate accommodation to support the nation's strong pipeline of infrastructural projects. This role involves working closely with land planning agencies such as the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), JTC Corporation, and the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) to identify vacant sites or buildings that can be repurposed as dormitories, whilst taking into account site and infrastructure constraints.
Responsibilities include assisting in the evaluation of potential sites, coordinating with developing agencies undertaking construction projects to match sites with their needs, and supporting community engagement efforts with Grassroots Advisers and residents as new dormitories are introduced, particularly in areas with known disamenities. The intern will gain valuable experience in land use planning, stakeholder management, and community relations within the context of addressing Singapore's infrastructure and housing needs."
