What the role is

We are looking for dynamic and highly motivated candidates to fulfil an exciting and fulfilling role in Ops Systems Sustainment Centre, as a Lead Engineer/Engineer in Sustainment Plans and Policies. Reporting to the Head, Sustainment Plans and Policies, he/she will undertake a wide spectrum of interesting work functions such as planning, project/system management, compliance work and data analytics. The job holder would foster strong collaboration with colleagues supporting the operations and support of the Home Team Departments’ ICT systems. He/she is required to harmonise existing processes and work across the various Home Team Departments and agencies. The job holder is also required to oversee the coordination and staffing of Cap Sustainment level related work and engagement related activities.

What you will be working on

The jobholder is responsible but not limited to the following: a. Establish and maintain robust compliance frameworks for Home Team Ops Systems, ensuring alignment with prevailing Government ICT policy circulars and regulatory requirements. b. Possess good understanding of government ICT compliance frameworks with willingness to develop expertise in IM8 requirements, or preferably be a practitioner of IM8 implementation, enabling effective interpretation of compliance clauses and obligations to provide compliance status. c. Have at least 5 years of experience with ICT systems and be able to lead work streams that involve extensive engagement of project teams, reviewing and extracting relevant data from complex technical documentation and consolidating findings to provide comprehensive updates to management for decision-making and strategic oversight. d. Maintain and review the Integrated Sustainment Development Plan (ISDP) that encapsulates all Capability Sustainment-related tasks, policies, and checklists incorporated in each of the key phases of the project lifecycle. e. Track, analyse, and report on system availability trends, progress, and anomalies, as well as monitor the expenditure of development budgets and operating costs for Capability Sustainment projects f. Compile, formulate and oversee the implementation of the Ops Systems Sustainment Centre’s annual workplan, tracking progress and reporting to HTX Senior Management. g. Understand the work processes of the various Home Team Departments and HTX functions, collecting data based on best practices and implementing data analytics through various platforms like Tableau and PowerBI, extracting insights from the datasets to facilitate management's decision making.

What we are looking for

‒ Have a recognised degree, postgraduate / tertiary qualification preferably related to Engineering, Computer Science, information systems or other quantitative/ analytical fields. ‒ Preferably at least 5 years’ work experience in Project/System Management of enterprise-wide ICT systems would be valued. ‒ Preferably be proficient in data analytics with hands-on experience in visualisation tools such as Tableau, PowerBI or equivalent platforms. ‒ Have a good understanding, or have been a practitioner of Compliance framework, such as IM8 or other equivalent ICT compliance framework; and/or policies and best practices governing administrative, financial and procurement procedures within ICT domain. ‒ Be self-driven, meticulous and possesses strong analytical, interpersonal and writing skills. ‒ Have ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. All new appointees will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
