Senior Engineer (Reservoir Water Quality and Maintenance)

As a Senior Engineer with the Catchment & Waterways Dept / Reservoir Water Quality and Maintenance Section, your roles and responsibilities would include but not limited to:

• Oversee and coordinate all inter-reservoir transfer and reservoir scouring operations in accordance with SOP • Oversee the maintenance of reservoirs, including aquatic plants and flotsam removal • Oversee the operations and maintenance of Lorong Halus wetland treatment system and stormwater ponds • Monitor reservoir water quality, collect water samples, and take appropriate mitigating measures in accordance with SOP • Manage midge issues and take appropriate mitigating measures in accordance with SOP • Oversee attendance to public feedback on reservoir related issues • Plan, oversee and review staff deployment • Plan and review response plans and SOPs for emergency incidences • Contract management and administration including calling, evaluation and award of tenders/quotations

• Degree in Civil/Environmental engineering • Candidates with relevant experience in reservoir operations and maintenance work are preferred • Independent, able to handle unpredictable situations and work under pressure, and competent in executing emergency response plans and SOPs • Good communication and interpersonal skills and possess a positive, can-do attitude • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Knowledge of Public Sector Conditions of Contract and experience in contract management and administration • Preferably possess Class 3 Driving licence
