Senior Manager (Intake and Response- First Responders Team), RPG/OPS

The Rehabilitation and Protection Group (RPG) undertakes the statutory functions in the rehabilitation of adult and youth offenders, and the protection of children, families and vulnerable adults (VAs). Our mission is to empower individuals and families to break cycles of abuse, neglect and offending. As part of the RPG family, the Protective Service (PSV) is a statutory service that leads in the policies and processes to safeguard the safety and well-being of children and young person (CYP), families and vulnerable adults experiencing violence, abuse or neglect.

Responsibilities: As a Manager (Team Lead) / Senior Manager, you will: • Supervise a team of case workers who will be responding to high-risk cases on-site that involves child abuse, domestic violence and vulnerable adults, conduct safety assessment and implement immediate safety planning to ensure their safety, during and after-office hours; • Provide management clearance for safety decisions of the child abuse, domestic violence survivors, vulnerable adults and their families; • Collaborate closely with the professional partners to ensure coordinated case management for the safety of the CYP, domestic violence survivors, vulnerable adults and their families; • Develop and implement operational processes and policies to guide the team’s operations; • Work closely with the planning team to identify key competencies and implement trainings for the team; • Identify and engage key professionals to collaborate and build up interface to facilitate a smooth service delivery; and • Oversee staff development to ensure professional capacity of the officers by identifying training needs.

Requirements: • Background in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline or with at least 3-5 years of experience in working with CYP, vulnerable adults or with crisis management in social service settings; and • At least 2 years of supervisory experience. • Strong writing and presentation skills • Strong analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable in engaging external partners in the community and across Ministries • Empathetic with high level of emotional resilience and ability to work calmly in stressful situations and environment • Tenacious and nimble in handling difficult clients and/or situations • Enjoy teamwork and able to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment • Competent in building strong teams • Able to do 12-hour shift work
