Project title: Development of Structured Suite of Workplace Safety and Health Resources for Court Trials
This project supports OSHI’s initiative to strengthen investigators’ courtroom performance and composure under cross-examination.
The intern will assist the project lead in developing a structured suite of resources — including question banks, mock trial materials, and case digests — drawn from actual workplace safety prosecution cases.
The goal is to bridge investigation practice with legal expectations, ensuring that every Investigating Officer (IO) enters court confident, factual, and fully prepared.

What you will be working on
The intern will:
• Analyse WSHA Prosecution Cases – Review judgments, transcripts, or public court decisions to identify how investigators were questioned, and summarise key legal takeaways.
• Develop Cross-Examination Question Banks – Create sample defence questions (by theme: evidence handling, bias, procedural compliance, credibility) and propose model IO responses.
• Support Mock Trial Design – Collaborate with trainers to script realistic role-play scenarios and feedback rubrics for IO assessment.
• Draft Legal Briefs & Case Digests – Produce concise 1-page summaries of relevant cases highlighting courtroom strategy and witness credibility issues.
• Assist in Repository Management – Organise and label learning resources, video links, and reference guides in the IO Learning Exchange (ILX).
• Conduct Comparative Legal Research – Gather international best practices on witness preparation and present short insights for team learning.
• Support Evaluation – Help design post-training evaluation forms and summarise learning outcomes after pilot sessions.
