What the role is

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Manager for Data Analysis to support the Applied Sciences Group of HSA. The candidate will work closely with the forensic and analytical laboratories on data analytic projects, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in data analysis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

What you will be working on

  • To create and manage ASG dashboards, conduct data analysis, and communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the applied sciences, forensic and health sciences industries.
  • To generate recurring data reports and management presentations with appropriate data visualisations for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across all data sources.
  • To improve efficiency, quality, compliance, process optimisation, research and development, and inventory management through data analysis of laboratory processes and test results using laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
  • To develop and deploy machine learning models and artificial intelligence solutions to enhance laboratory operations and analytical capabilities.
  • To manage cloud-based analytics infrastructure and AI deployment pipelines for scalable data analytics solutions.
  • To conduct advanced statistical analysis and predictive modelling for forensic and analytical science applications.

What we are looking for

  • Background in Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in data preparation and analysis tools such as Python, R, or VBA
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Databricks
  • Experience with database management systems and SQL for data extraction and manipulation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Advantageous to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in machine learning and AI applications
  • Expertise in statistical modelling and predictive analytics
  • Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) for analytics and ML deployment
  • Knowledge of MLOps tools and practices including Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or cloud-based data warehousing solutions
  • Familiarity with large language models, natural language processing, and generative AI technologies
  • Strong programming skills and experience with version control systems
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) in the hospital, biopharma, or chemical testing industry
