Manager/Asst Manager – Investigation & Enforcement Section

What the role is

We are looking for an individual who will uphold high standards of public health by working with the Senior Executive/Manager and a team of officers at the Central Regional Office‘s Investigation and Enforcement Section (IES) to investigate and enforce against offences under but not limited to the Control of Vectors and Pesticides Act 1998 and Environmental Public Health Act (EPHA).

What you will be working on

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Support the enforcement process as stipulated under relevant Acts and Legislation (e.g. Control of Vectors and Pesticides Act and Environmental Public Health Act ) to ensure adherence to environmental public health requirement.
  • Investigate cases and interview witnesses and offenders. 
  • Work with the Central Regional Office’s internal sections and Legal Department for prosecutorial decisions 
  • Undertake administrative duties, including maintaining database of enforcement actions, monitoring, and tracking case progression, maintaining proper documentation of correspondences with internal and external parties, collecting of evidence in accordance with legal requirements and ensuring proper filling of investigation materials and evidence, serving of letters/summons to offenders
  • Prepare reports for feedback and appeals and provide recommendations for case consideration.
  • Gain hands-on experience in frontline enforcement operations to better understand investigation protocols and interviewing techniques

What we are looking for

  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • A team player with good problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable in working in a fast-paced environment and within tight deadlines
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Organised and able to multi-task
  • Outgoing, pleasant personality, independent and resourceful.
  • Experience in investigation will be an advantage
