What the role is
What you will be working on
Main responsibilities:
HR Policies:
Regular review of HR policies to ensure relevance and staff engagement based on organisational objectives and employee needs
- Ensure compliance and alignment of HR policies to whole of government policies where required
- Manage and systematically document institutional knowledge and documentation of policy implementation, including deviation cases
- Plan and enhance communication toolkit to employees and supervisors for effective application of policies
- Manage HR policy changes as part of Workday setup management
Compensation and Benefits:
- Oversee and manage a competitive and total rewards strategy that will attract and retain talent
- Develop, refine and deliver compensation & benefits policy and structures across STB HQ and Regional Offices
- Conduct regular salary reviews and benchmarking studies to ensure market relevance and competitiveness
- Custodian of STB's manpower budget to ensure effective utilisation and planning to support STB's vision and growth
- Manage compensation planning process in the Workday system
Union partnership:
Manage relationship with Union through regular engagement and Collective Agreement negotiations
Undertake ad-hoc projects and duties as assigned
What we are looking for
- At least 8 years of experience in HR policy formulation and practice, with knowledge of varied HR functional areas, in particular Compensation and Benefits
- Good understanding of public service HR practice and guidelines would be advantageous
- Strong analytical skills and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong communications skills, including good written skills
- Strong team player and good stakeholder management skills; able to build trust and credibility with key stakeholders
- An enthusiastic and driven self-starter, and able to think innovatively to improve current states
- Have an interest/passion in HR and able to adapt market trends for STB
- Showing good business acumen, analytical thinking and judgement
- Working effectively within STB to achieve results
- Working effectively with stakeholders outside STB
- Serving with heart, commitment and purpose
- Being innovative and learning continuously
