Economics Division (Data & AI Office) - AI-Enhanced Data Retrieval, Intelligence Generation and Staffing Productivity

You will be attached to MTI Economics Division – Data & AI Office (DnAI) and be part of the team on an exciting journey to enable enhanced policymaking, economic sensing, operational and staffing work efficiency, and service delivery through AI and data solutions. You will support the development of MTI custom AI tools to enable fast and accurate data / statistics retrieval, horizon scanning to generate insights and intelligence (talking points and spotlight topics), and content generation (e.g., policy and speech). You will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the following: • Co-create AI and data products based on business requirements to address problem statements and pain-points; • Learn the backend intricacies of data warehousing, data transformation and data engineering leading to end-user data exploration and exploitation, i.e., end-to-end data lifecycle; • Explore latest technologies and tools that enable users to work productively with AI and data, and new application or use cases; • Acquire knowledge on data management / governance policies and standard-operating-procedures (SOPs); • Organise events / workshops as part of overall business users engagement efforts; • Hands-on experience of end-to-end process of developing such tools, including LLM, prompt engineering, app deployment, UI/UX design, and product management.

• Tertiary education with a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Statistics, or related disciplines. • Technical Skills: - Proficiency in Python with some familiarity with cloud deployments (especially on AWS cloud) - Familiarity with SQL and data wrangling - Understanding of machine learning concepts and generative AI / Large Language Models (LLMs) - Exposure to Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, AWS QuickSight) will be an added advantage • Soft Skills: - Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset - Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving technologies - Strong communication skills; comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Collaborative team player
