Digital integration is a critical enabler for fulfilling ASEAN’s potential. Singapore has consistently played a pioneering role in building up ASEAN’s commitments to digital integration, through various agreements such as the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA) and related digital initiatives.   The intern will support MTI-ASEAN’s Digital Economy team to continue championing for strong, cohesive and relevant digital rules through developing a report and recommendations for the review of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP)’s E-Commerce Chapter. The intern will be expected to assess existing commitments undertaken by RCEP Parties and ideate for new areas and opportunities the region can seize in the digital space.

• Applicants should be in their penultimate year of undergraduate studies and have a strong interest in global trade, international relations, policy work and more importantly, ASEAN. • Applicants should be meticulous, and possess good research, critical thinking and writing skills. It will be a bonus if applicants are inquisitive and willing to undertake new technical disciplines/tasks on the job. • Prior internship experience in a related field is not necessary, but a plus.
