What you will be working on
This project will analyse examine the development of carbon markets across ASEAN Member States, including their regulatory frameworks, institutional arrangements, and emerging market trends. It will map key stakeholders, agencies, and decision-making processes in selected ASEAN countries to identify scope for regional cooperation and practical pathways to advance market readiness. Findings should be translated into policy proposals that support credible, high-integrity carbon market development in ASEAN.
Deliverable
A landscape report on state of ASEAN carbon markets and policy recommendations to support the design and implementation of carbon market initiatives during Singapore’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2027.
What we are looking for
• Understanding of and interest in sustainability and climate change developments
• Keen interest in current affairs, especially in relation to global economic and geopolitical developments
• Comfortable dealing with research work and writing
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A self-starter mindset, exemplified by high initiative and resourcefulness in solving new problems
