What you will be working on
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design & Architecture:
• Architect end-to-end solutions spanning multiple systems, applications, and platforms to meet complex business requirements
• Create comprehensive solution blueprints, including system integration patterns, data flows, and technology stack recommendations
• Design solutions that balance functional requirements, non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability), and technical constraints
• Develop architectural decision records and maintain solution documentation for stakeholder communication
Strategic Technology Leadership:
• Define technology roadmaps and architectural principles that support long-term organisational objectives
• Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their fit within the existing technology landscape
• Establish architectural governance frameworks and standards to ensure consistency across solution delivery
• Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance on technology selection for optimal solution outcomes
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
• Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and senior leadership to translate business vision into technical solutions
• Facilitate architectural discussions with development teams, infrastructure teams, and external vendors
• Present solution proposals and architectural decisions to technical and non-technical audiences
• Collaborate with enterprise architects to ensure solution alignment with broader organisational architecture
Technical Excellence & Delivery:
• Oversee technical implementation to ensure solutions meet architectural intent and quality standards
• Provide technical leadership during solution delivery, addressing complex integration challenges and architectural risks
• Mentor development teams on architectural patterns, design principles, and best practices
• Ensure solutions are designed for maintainability, extensibility, and operational excellence
What we are looking for
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in software engineering and over 8 years as a Solution Architect/Software Architect/QA Lead/Data Management Lead, or similar role.
• Proven track records of experience in developing and delivering large-scale projects with primarily in-house developed software products, including multi-site deployment and proven track records
• Demonstrated deep expertise in a specialized area (such as front end, back end, data management, QA & testing), solution and software architecture, DevOps
• Experienced in working with multiple cross functional teams to drive software delivery.
• Experienced in coaching technical excellence, development standards, and technical problem-solving
• Strong technical leadership with a self-driven approach to achieving technical excellence
• Possess strong problem-solving and documentation skills, with a keen attention to detail
• Highly analytical, self-motivated team player.
All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
