What you will be working on
This internship offers an opportunity to analyse carbon credit markets and provide data-driven insights on pricing trends and volume potential. The intern will conduct market research and data analysis to support strategic decision-making around carbon credit initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analysis of Factors Affecting Carbon Credit Prices
Research and analyse the key factors that influence carbon credit pricing across different markets and project types. This involves using various carbon credit registries and exchanges, identifying factors that drive price variations (project type, geography, certification standards, co-benefits, vintage, methodology etc.), analysing how these factors impact pricing, and documenting findings in a clear report.
2. Update Excel Database on Volume Potential of Carbon Credits
Maintain and update the existing Excel database tracking volume potential of carbon credits. This involves collecting current volume data from relevant sources, updating the database with new information on supply and demand, analysing volume trends across different markets and sectors, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
3. Create Dashboard to Track Procurement
Develop a dashboard that tracks current procurement progress. This would include tracking our progress towards diversity, NDC and pricing targets. This dashboard will help to make complex data accessible and support decision-making.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this internship, the successful candidate will have gained practical experience in market research and data analysis, carbon markets and environmental trading, data visualisation and presentation, and translating complex data into accessible formats.

• Report on factors affecting carbon credit prices
• Updated Excel database on volume potential
• Dashboard to track Procurement Progress
What we are looking for
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Experience and proficiency with data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI) and quantitative analysis software (e.g., Excel, Python)
• Ability to present findings clearly to non-technical audiences
• Basic understanding of market analysis and economics
• Interest in environmental sustainability, climate action and/ or carbon trading
