What the role is

You will be part of the Maritime Network and Partnerships Office (MNPO) under the MPA Academy Division to support efforts to reinforce Singapore’s role as a Global Hub Port and leading International Maritime Centre. Reporting to the Deputy Director, you will support the strategic planning and execution of the Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) — MPA's flagship event and one of the world's leading maritime shows. This role involves coordinating programme elements, managing stakeholder relationships, and working with the appointed event management vendor to deliver a world-class event that showcases Singapore's maritime leadership.

What you will be working on

Your main roles and responsibilities include:
• Support strategic planning and programme development for Singapore Maritime Week; assist in shaping programme elements across leadership dialogues, conferences, exhibitions, talent initiatives, and community events.
• Coordinate programme design and work with internal divisions to develop high-quality keynotes, panels, and sessions aligned with maritime priorities such as decarbonisation, digitalisation, and talent development.
• Serve as liaison for stakeholders and partners across government, industry, academic institutions, corporations, embassies, academic institutions, international organisations etc.
• Coordinate with partners to facilitate their involvement and participation in SMW.
• Support regular updates to internal and external stakeholders and management and assist with secretariat functions of the programme office.
• Support execution and monitoring of SMW programmes and schedules, ensuring objectives are met within agreed timelines, costs and performance expectations.
• Assist with post-event evaluation and contribute to regular reviews benchmarking SMW against global maritime and business events to ensure continued relevance and thought leadership.
 

What we are looking for

  • At least 5 to 7 years of work experience in event management, conferences, or strategic programmes — preferably at national or regional scale.   

  • Strong stakeholder management, communications, and copywriting skills

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams and work effectively with external vendors.

  • Well-organised, adaptable, and able to work effectively in fast-paced environments.

  • Candidate will be appointed on a 2 year contract
