What the role is

As part of the team in the MPA Academy, you will be developing training workplan and driving the implementation of programmes that empower learning through acquiring of knowledge and skills among MPA staff

What you will be working on

Your main roles and responsibilities include:
 

Training Programmes

  • Conduct skills gaps analysis and training needs assessment to develop training roadmaps and tailor training to address identified gaps. Organise and/or conduct courses to equip MPA officers with the knowledge and skills to perform their jobs productively.
  • Work with line divisions in MPA to develop and regularly review the curriculum of training programmes to keep them relevant and up to date. Curate course offerings based on competencies in key domain expertise (KDE), liaise with training service providers (TSPs) for course details, and evaluate the submissions for training courses for curriculum content, trainer experience, and pricing.
  • Utilise data-driven insights to inform training strategies, assess and monitor impact and effectiveness of training; prepare reports and presentations for continuous learning.

Learning Content & Systems

  • Work with line divisions to develop and curate interactive and engaging e-learning content for deployment on digital platforms (MPAA’s Learning Management System, microsite etc.) to complement traditional classroom learning.
  • Spearhead and promote the documentation and dissemination of institutional knowledge among MPA officers through different formats, such as case studies, oral interviews and documentation of public lectures/talks organised by the Academy.  

Learning Culture & Publicity

  • Develop and execute publicity for training programmes, MPAA courses and events using various channels including newsletter, brochures, electronic direct mails and videos. Create compelling marketing materials to maximise course participation.
  • Develop initiatives to foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing across MPA, utilising both digital and traditional engagement methods.

What we are looking for

  • 5 to 6 years of relevant working experience in administering/coordinating training programmes and in organising events like talks/seminars is preferred. Familiarity and experience in curriculum development will be an advantage.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical and writing skills, and preferably with good knowledge of the maritime industry as well as able to work effectively in teams.

  • Title will commensurate with experience

  • Candidate will be appointed on a 2 year contract
