What the role is

We are seeking a meticulous individual who is passionate about creating an intuitive UX/UI and user-friendly digital interface, enhancing learning experience. You will be part of the team managing the various digital platforms, focused on creating innovative digital experiential service for our varied users, particularly Career Practitioners and individuals in CareersIgnite, a new platform.

What you will be working on

User Research & Behavioural Insights

  • Design & conduct user research (eg surveys, interviews, usability testing) to identify usability gaps and adoption barriers

  • Apply behavioural insights and nudges to improve awareness, adoption and engagement of Careers Ignite

  • Translate insights into prioritised, actionable recommendations within tight delivery timeline

UX, Service Design & Journey Optimisation

  • Map & optimise end-to-end user journeys for CareersIgnite and related digital services

  • Identify high-impact UX/UI improvements and work with internal teams or vendors to implement changes

  • Ensure usability and accessibility considerations are embedded into design recommendations

Digital Innovation & Experimentation

  • Identify and pilot digital tools or solutions (including Generative AI where appropriate) that can quickly improve user experience or operational efficiency

  • Design and run time-bound experiments to test feature enhancements, nudges or onboarding improvements

Analytics, Measurement & Impact Evaluation

  • Define and track clear success metrics (eg adoption, engagement, tasks, completion, satisfaction)

  • Analyse usage data to evaluate effectiveness of implemented changes

  • Produce & translate insights into deliverable system changes

What we are looking for

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong grounding in UX/UI and service design, including usability and accessibility.

  • Hands-on experience in user research, behavioural insights, and data analysis to drive adoption and engagement.

  • Familiarity with UX, collaboration, and analytics tools, digital platforms, and emerging technologies (e.g. Generative AI).

Abilities & Aptitude

  • Strong user-centric and empathetic mindset.

  • Self-directed and able to deliver outcomes in fast-paced, time-bound environments.

  • Effective problem-solver and communicator, able to collaborate across stakeholders.

  • Adaptable and resilient in response to changing priorities.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
