What the role is

The Community Relations and Engagement Division (CRED) fosters a cohesive, caring and active community. We formulate and review policies, as well develop community platforms and programmes to nurture harmonious relations among racial and religious communities. The intern will work closely with the Community Relations policy team to support key research studies to better understand evolving religious practices in Singapore and public communications campaign on the International Conversation on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) report.

What you will be working on

The intern will work with immediate supervisor on the following: (a) Research on models for programmes/ curriculum to strengthen inter-faith understanding amongst religious leaders (b) Research on alternative/ new models of places of worship, with a particular focus on strengthening mixing and social integration (c) Research on public communications campaigns and narratives for Singapore’s 2nd ICERD Report • Identify suitable stakeholders, target audience, platforms and key narrative to promote positive race and religion narratives • Provide administrative support, where needed, for comms outreach and stakeholder engagement (d) Other related tasks (e.g., knowledge management) • Intern may also assist in creation of knowledge repository to collate and organise information on race and religious policies / trends. • Intern may assist in research or administrative tasks needed to support policy reviews and sector development.

What we are looking for

• Undergraduate with social science background who can commit 2-3 months, experience in research will be an advantage • Keen interest in public policy and topics related to race and religion (e.g., religious practices, Singapore’s racial and religious diversity, etc.) • Team player with strong communication skills (writing and verbal), keen eye for detail, and able to work independently • Proficient in MS Office Applications Application Details: We are seeking interns who can commit on a full-time basis either from Jan 2026 to Mar 2026 or May 2026 to Aug 2026.
