Intern, Improving User Experience at the Syariah Court

What the role is

This is a 3-month undergraduate internship focused on user experience, to improve divorce processes at the Syariah Court. You'll be executing UX initiatives by testing and refining communications materials to ensure they effectively serve individuals navigating the divorce process.

What you will be working on

You'll be responsible for conducting user testing on various communications materials related to divorce proceedings to evaluate their effectiveness and usability. This includes creating draft communications materials such as guides, forms, and informational resources, analysing user feedback and testing results, and liaising with designers to enhance materials based on insights gathered. You'll also be involved in iterating on designs through multiple rounds of testing and refinement to ensure optimal user experience.

What we are looking for

We're seeking detail-oriented undergraduate(s) with strong analytical skills to interpret user testing results and translate findings into actionable recommendations. You should have excellent communication skills for coordinating with designers and stakeholders, empathy for understanding the needs of self-represented litigants, and the ability to create clear, accessible communications materials for sensitive legal processes. Experience with user testing methodologies or design processes would be valuable but not essential. Required/Preferred Familiarity with user testing tools, design software, or research methodologies would be advantageous. Strong written communication skills are essential for creating draft materials and documenting findings. Basic understanding of design principles and user experience concepts preferred. Sensitivity to working with individuals in potentially stressful legal situations. Open to students from Design, Communications, Psychology, Social Work, or related disciplines.
