What you will be working on
This incumbent will support ActiveSG’s risk management and compliance effort by actively managing compliance functions, proactively addressing emerging challenges and advising and recommending effective internal controls and best practices while reviewing processes holistically. This would involve establishing robust controls, enhancing compliance capabilities, and ensuring adherence to applicable guidelines, regulations and industry standards.
Role and Responsibilities:
• To establish, maintain and update compliance-related policies and procedures
• To develop, review and refine existing and new operating procedures, frameworks and systems to carry out compliance functions
• To engage with stakeholders through dialogues and consultations to garner feedback, understand their challenges and explore solutions on relevant issues relating to compliance matters.
• To keep abreast of evolving regulatory landscapes, industry trends, and emerging compliance issues, proactively assess their impact on operations and recommend appropriate strategies to ensure ongoing compliance.
• To manage the execution of risk strategies and risk mitigation plan
• To identify, assess, and document compliance risks associated with business activities and operations, conducting quarterly compliance risk assessments
• To undertake monitoring and compliance-related work to ensure that employees maintain professional standards of conduct, and comply with the relevant guidelines
• To investigate complaints or findings made in respect of alleged professional misconduct / non-compliance with policies and procedures.
• To develop compliance action plans to mitigate identified risks based on the outcomes of compliance risk assessments.
• To coordinate and support internal and external compliance audits and examinations. Collaborate with audit teams to address any findings and implement corrective actions. Ensure proper documentation, resolution, and reporting of investigation outcomes.
• To collaborate with professional bodies and training providers to develop continuing professional education or training programmes to enhance awareness and understanding of compliance obligations across the organization.
• To ensure employees are well-informed about their responsibilities regarding applicable guidelines, regulations, and industry standards.
• To develop and monitor a training assessment and feedback system.
What we are looking for
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community.
This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.
In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following:
• At least 7 years of proven experience and/or track record in relevant areas
• Experience in dealing with both private and public sector at management level
• Ability to work and respond positively in a complex and ambiguous environment
• Ability to exercise good judgement and decision making
• Possess good inter-personal and communication skills
