Operations Executive (PAssion Wave)

What the role is

Why does the job exist? What is the primary objective of the job that must be achieved by the incumbent?

To assist Managers in the general administration of the PAssion Wave outlets.

To assist Managers in monitoring and supervising the PAssion Wave outlets in providing quality and safe adventure, water sports, waterfront lifestyle and camp programmes for students, members, youth groups and the general public.

To assist Managers in ensuring the safe operations of the activities and the safety of the participants at the outlet.

What you will be working on

Key duties and responsibilities that need to be performed to meet the primary objective of the job.  This will include the important result areas (what) along with the rationale (why).

  • Assist the Managers in the overall administration and operations of the PAssion Wave outlets.
  • Assist in developing outlet strategies that are in line with senior management’s strategies and support the PA’s missions and objectives.
  • Implement and review workplans effectively and in line with the goals of PAssion Wave Section.
  • Plans and co-ordinates courses, activities and services of the PAssion Wave outlets.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of the building, infrastructure and grounds of the PAssion Wave outlets.
  • Supervises and guides Operations Assistant under his/her charge.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and keep updated on organisational and sectional matters disseminated by PAssion Wave Section.
  • Ensures proper budgeting, accounting and cash management of the PAssion Wave outlets’ account and activity group to maintain the integrity of the PA.
  • Works closely with volunteers and trainers in planning and implementing adventure, water sports waterfront lifestyle, camp programmes and activities.
  • Coordinates the execution of PAssion Wave outlet’s programmes and services.
  • Monitors the performance of trainers with respect to course safety and quality management so as to maintain a high level of safety and quality of programmes.
  • Recommends potential trainers for official appointments.
  • Works in consultation with the PAssion Wave Section management and assists in co-ordinating programmes, activities and services of the outlet.
  • Mobilises members to participate in projects, national campaigns and activities organised or endorsed by the People’s Association.
  • Maintains a network with local organisations on accredited training courses and adventure and water sports type activities to maintain industry awareness.
  • Conducts audit checks on stores and inventory systems to ensure sufficient stock and serviceability of training and adventure and water sports equipment.
  • Assist in emergency evacuation of casualties and work with PAssion Wave Section management in times of crisis.

  • To perform safety operations including and not limited:
  • launching/ driving the powerboat to perform. search and rescues where needed,
  • launch and recover participants and ensure activities are conducted in a safe environment

What we are looking for

Other ad-hoc duties not covered under main responsibilities and duties.

  • Coordinate ad-hoc projects or participate in Task Forces as required.

  • Performs other duties assigned by the senior officers

Minimum - At least one year working experience in adventure, water sports or outdoor environment

 

Minimum - Able to swim at least 50 metres unaided.

 

Desired - Possesses the Powered Pleasure Craft Driving License, Lifesaving 123 and Knowledge in Risk Assessment and Management

 

Desired - Three years of working in relevant Field. Good presentation skills would be advantageous.  Have experience in customer service
