Description of Division:
As part of the RPG Protective Service (PSV), the Partner & Capability Development (PCD) division drives partner management and capability building to deliver effective protection services for individuals and families experiencing violence, abuse, or neglect. We strengthen coordination of common services and enable holistic management of services run by social service agencies and vendors. The division advances evidence-based and trauma-informed practices to better support both RPG staff and the social service sector.
Description of Branch:
The Trauma-informed Practice (TIP) Branch leads the effort to make PSV a sustainable workplace that better understands and responds to trauma affecting both our staff and clients. We drive strategies and initiatives in PSV and collaborate with sector agencies to embed organisational practices and a trauma-informed culture where everyone feels safer and cared for in their work.

What you will be working on
Brief description of Job Scope:
The Trauma-Informed Practice Branch leads the strategic effort to transform PSV into a sustainable workplace that better understands and responds to trauma affecting both staff and clients. As a Senior Manager in this newly established team, you will drive organisational change initiatives through testing new ideas, building partnerships, and engaging with different teams. This role requires independent leadership in spearheading projects that demand deep thinking, synthesis of ground-level insights, and reflective analysis of organisational needs. You will coordinate cross-divisional efforts and ensure trauma-informed principles are embedded across all levels of service delivery, creating safer, more supportive environments for both staff and the communities we serve.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Manager, you will report to a Senior Assistant Director and:
• Lead and manage strategic trauma-informed practice initiatives, ensuring smooth progression and delivery across multiple workstreams whilst maintaining oversight of interconnected organisational change efforts
• Build and sustain strategic partnerships with diverse internal and external stakeholders including PSV Operations Leaders, RPG leadership, frontline staff, cross-divisional teams, and social service partner agencies to embed trauma-informed approaches and facilitate policy development, consultation, and resource sharing
• Drive organisational transformation priorities including leadership development, recruitment and onboarding processes, client service journey enhancement, and learning and knowledge management systems through evidence-based approaches
• Design, convene and facilitate stakeholder engagement activities such as cross-divisional workgroups and focus group discussions, synthesising insights to inform strategic decision-making and organisational development
• Provide strategic oversight for staff wellbeing initiatives and contribute to crisis response planning, ensuring psychological safety and organisational resilience during challenging periods
This role offers significant autonomy and strategic influence. You'll need good judgement, the ability to see how different parts of the organisation connect, and skills to navigate complex situations while creating meaningful change.
What we are looking for
Requirements:
• Strong written communication skills with ability to synthesise information into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
• Experience in project leadership, stakeholder engagement across organisational levels, and systems thinking with collaborative approach
• Background in casework or protective work with understanding of frontline realities and knowledge of trauma-informed principles (preferred)
