What the role is
What you will be working on

Conduct research and analysis on tax treaty matters, to formulate Singapore’s position in tax treaty and Mutual Agreement Procedure negotiations
Provide technical guidance on interpretation and application of tax treaties to internal and external stakeholders
Evaluate the implications of treaty-related international tax issues and developments, and provide recommendations to shape Singapore’s international tax positions
Provide support for IRAS representatives at international meetings and negotiations

Strong ability to understand, develop and evaluate policies
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly
Good interpersonal and influencing skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders
Proficient in analysing tax-related issues and associated legal frameworks
Meticulous, with the ability to identify key insights and nuances in complex information
Resourceful and self-motivated
Strong team spirit and a proactive, positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and innovate
Willing to travel as needed
*All successful hires will be offered a 2 year contract in the first instance
