As part of the International Accounts team, you will be involved in the planning, data collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of economic statistics pertaining to Singapore’s economic transaction with other countries.
You will be part of a team responsible for producing key economic indicators and data insights pertaining to Singapore’s international trade in services.

What you will be working on
• Gathering, analysing and transforming data to compile Singapore’s services trade statistics and derive insights to support policy making and economic analysis
• Ensuring data quality by working closely with businesses, applying statistical imputation and data validation methods to improve reliability and robustness
• Driving innovation in our data collection and compilation processes by exploring alternative data sources, implementing machine learning and econometric solutions and other data science tools
• Communicating data, findings and insights to diverse audiences through various dissemination channels and collaterals
• Working closely with economists, policy analysts, data scientists and other statisticians within and outside Government to collaborate in data-related projects and/or support their data needs
What we are looking for
• Possess knowledge or experience in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Accountancy, Actuarial Science and/or subjects with substantial quantitative content (e.g., regression, analytics, modelling, forecasting)
• Organised and detailed oriented
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Able to work well both independently and as a member of a team
• Working knowledge of programming languages (e.g. R, Python), data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and econometric modelling will be an advantage
