What the role is
What you will be working on
Market Assessment and Analysis
Undertake robust and deep analysis of 3 key markets – telecom, media and post, in the short to medium term. This will involve economic and financial analysis of operators to ascertain the overall health (financial and non-financial) of the company. Multiple perspectives from internal and external stakeholders will also need to be obtained, in order to develop robust and sound policy recommendations.
Strategic Reviews
Undertake market assessments for local and international market segments and policy issues (including mergers and acquisitions), produce timely, thoroughly researched and well-written reports, ensure that local and international market trends, are taken into consideration in policy formulation. This is to develop, recommend and implement short and long-term policies and regulatory frameworks.
Mobile Market and Spectrum Policy
Competition assessment and market structure analysis will need to be undertaken, to better understand market trends (e.g., 5G, 6G) and developments of Singapore’s mobile market. This will also involve the policy and technical assessment of a key resource, frequency spectrum.
What we are looking for
- Background in Economics or Business Administration or Engineering. Other disciplines can be considered.
- Keep up with developments in the telecom, media and post/parcel sectors (technology, market, regulatory), digital economy, business and consumer concerns, social-economic environment in Singapore and international developments (technology, regulatory, legal).
- Good policy acumen
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills)
- Resourceful, highly-motivated, proactive self-starter with an analytical and creative mind
- Result and stakeholder-oriented with multi-tasking capabilities
- Independent officer who can work well in a team and be involved in cross-team projects
