SENIOR STUDENT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (ARTS) - STUDENT DEVELOPMENT OFFICE
What the role is
What you will be working on
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
A) CCA CLUB MANAGEMENT
1. Mentor CCA Students & Inculcate Values:
Mentor student leaders in their management committee roles and work, including communication, conflict management
Guide students in holistic development and student life matters via interactions, reflective discussions and teachable moments
Plan and oversee the development and training of student leaders.
2. Manage CCA Clubs:
Help enable and promote the growth and development of arts CCA clubs, preferably having experience in managing student arts groups.
Advise students on club management, including recruitment, selections, members engagement, trainings, briefings, event management and operational matters.
Ensure that clubs adhere to NP’s governance, safety, and financial frameworks.
Handle administrative processes, such as proposal preparation, vetting, budgeting, procurement (small value purchases), and maintaining CCA records.
Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., coaches, parents, associations, alumni) on CCA-related matters.
Manage CCAs’ coach(es), including training plans, contract management, ensuring professional conduct and adherence to the coaches’ code of conduct and alignment to CCA goals.
3. Project management:
Lead projects, ensure timelines are met and enhance structures and processes
Liaise with students and vendors, where necessary
4. Other Duties:
Support SDO-wide student development events and cross-functional projects.
Perform any additional tasks as assigned
B) RELEVANT MUSIC PROJECT MANAGEMENT
1. Music CCA Support
Support music based CCAs (e.g., Concert Band, Chinese Orchestra, Strings, Piano, Voices – Acapella and Show Choir, Song Composing Club, etc.).
Advise on training plans, auditions, performance preparation, and artistic direction (in consultation with coaches).
Peferably understand ensemble workflows, rehearsal structures, repertoire considerations, and student development needs.
2. Music Performance & Programme Management
Oversee music-related showcases, recitals, festivals, and performance series.
Coordinate rehearsal logistics, sound/tech needs, venue use, and production workflows.
Ensure music events uphold safety, artistic quality, and student learning outcomes.
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree in related fields.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youths.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and project management experience.
Commitment to ensure good quality for all processes and programmes.
A positive track record of involvement in CCAs at the tertiary level would be an advantage.
Preferably with background or working experience in music, performing arts, arts education, or arts management and experience working with youth, arts groups, or creative collectives.
Flexibility to work after office hours or weekends when the work requires for it.
