The Rehabilitation and Protection Group (RPG) provides services for the rehabilitation of adult and youth offenders and the protection of children and families. As part of the RPG family, the Protective Service (PSV) provides statutory intervention and leads in child and adult protection policies and planning to safeguard the safety and well-being of children, young persons and vulnerable adults in Singapore. Our work remains firmly rooted in keeping children and adults safe from harm and safeguarding their welfare, in collaboration with the families and communities we work with.

What you will be working on

Brief description of Job Scope: Reporting to the Senior Manager, your role is to: • Assess the suitability of adoption applicants referred by the Courts and work in collaboration with a network of sector professionals • Be involved in the development and implementation of new processes that will enhance the Adoption team’s service delivery for the adoption process • Work closely with different teams within RPG • Be assigned any other ad-hoc tasks/projects (e.g intra or inter-branch committees; workgroups; assist other teams within Adoption as needed)

What we are looking for

Requirements: • Background in human services related field will be an advantage • Have strong communications, listening, coordination, interpersonal and people management skills to effectively engage clients and internal/external stakeholders; • Experience in working with vulnerable children and families or with investigative experience in social service settings is an added advantage. • Able to work calmly in highly stressful situations and environment; • Be tenacious and resilient in handling difficult situations/clients; • Have good physical endurance and high level of emotional resilience; • Good engagement, assessment, problem solving and multi-tasking skills; • Good analytical and critical thinking abilities; • Enjoy teamwork; • A good listener who is discerning, firm and fair; • Good interpersonal skills and able to collaborate with people from different groups and sectors.
