What the role is

This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Arts Business Management in the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary studies.

We are seeking dynamic and passionate individuals to join our academic team in Art Business Management. The successful candidate is expected to develop/teach modules that will equip students with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in the diverse and evolving arts landscape of Singapore and beyond.

What you will be working on

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Curriculum development, course delivery (face-to-face/online) and project supervision for youth and adult learners in the following areas:

  • Performing Arts Management OR Visual Arts Management

  • Community Arts

  • Exhibition Experience Management and Development

  • Artist Management in Arts & Entertainment

  • Arts, Heritage and Social Sustainability

  • Able to teach at least one evening or weekends in the week, lead overseas student trips

  • Lead and identify new opportunities, initiatives and collaborations with industry stakeholders, related government agencies & institutes of higher learning

  • Be up to date with the latest developments in the arts sector, in the areas of business, entrepreneurship and technology

  • Manage administrative work related to teaching and assigned projects

What we are looking for

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Arts Management, Business, Humanities, Social Sciences, or equivalent, coupled with direct and demonstrable experience within the performing or visual arts, community arts, or a related discipline.

  • Ability to confidently teach and contribute to the development of curriculum across a range of arts business management subjects, demonstrating a flexible and adaptable approach.

  • Experience in teaching communications-related subjects and/or IT skills will be a distinct advantage.

  • An agile team player with good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Project/time management and attention to detail

  • A tenacious attitude with a growth mindset
