What you will be working on

In this role, you will:

Plan and conduct aquaculture nutrition projects, including farm trials, and in collaboration with industry stakeholders and researchers to improve the nutrition and sustainability of aquafeeds
Integrate the pilot feed mill operations to produce experimental diets for aquaculture nutrition research
Identify knowledge or technology gaps related to fish nutrition and feed management and develop solutions to address the gaps, including conduct of relevant R&D projects.
Formulate experimental diets with focus on tropical fishes and shrimps
Organise training workshops for staff and industry partners on aquaculture nutrition and feed management
Perform other related duties as required for the smooth operation of the MAC

What we are looking for

Our requirements:

Scientific or research background in aquaculture-related fields such as fish nutrition and feed development
Knowledge of aquaculture technologies and best practices; and Knowledge in data analysis and research methodologies.
Willingness to work on weekends and after office hours when necessary
Team player with good writing, communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work in the office, field or offshore environments (e.g., supporting farm trials and samplings)

About Singapore Food Agency

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is a new Statutory Board formed under the ‘Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) to oversee food safety and security. The SFA will serve as the single point of contact for public feedback on food-related issues, and strengthen management of foodborne disease outbreaks to protect public health. The SFA will also facilitate more business-friendly regulations with oversight of all food safety policies and consolidation of food laboratory capabilities to deepen competencies in food diagnostics, and research and development in food safety.
