What the role is
What you will be working on
As Deputy/Assistant Head of Events Management, you will give strategic guidance to the team in coordinating the operations and management of key events and meetings in NRF, in particular our 2 flagship events: Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS) and the President’s Science and Technology Awards (GYSS). Your responsibilities include leading a team to:
• Strategically plan the execution of NRF flagship events, as well as other key NRF events and meetings – both local and international;
• Liaise with NRF senior management in providing timely updates on event-related matters;
• Ensure smooth operations and strong working relationship with our appointed event vendors; and
• Ensure that the Events Management Unit databases, departmental filing and procured IT systems are well maintained.
What we are looking for
• Background in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Business Administration, or related field is preferred;
• Minimum 2 years of experience in events management field;
• Confident in motivating and leading a team, as well as in engaging senior management;
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities; and
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills.

The National Research Foundation (NRF) was set up on 1 January 2006 as a department under the Prime Minister's Office. It was set up to perform the following:
a) To provide secretariat support to the Research, Innovation and Enterprise Council (RIEC), chaired by the Senior Minister;
b) To coordinate the research of different agencies within the larger national framework in order to provide a coherent strategic overview and direction;
c) To develop policies and plans to implement the five strategic thrusts for the national R&D agenda; and
d) To implement national research, innovation and enterprise strategies approved by the RIEC, and to allocate funding to programmes that meet NRF's strategic objectives.
