What the role is
What you will be working on
The IPCC SR Cities is the first product in the IPCC’s Seventh Assessment (AR7) cycle, which aims to provide a comprehensive assessment on cities in the context of climate change. The SR Cities Approval Plenary in Mar 2027, involving an estimated 550-650 delegates from UN member countries, could be hosted in Singapore.
The intern will be attached to MSE’s Energy & Climate Policy Division (ECPD) to support the organisation of the SR Cities Approval Plenary if this is held in Singapore. This will include working with various agencies (e.g. MND-CLC, NCCS, MFA, NEA) and external stakeholders on the preparations leading up to the plenary, including (but not limited to) the following:
1. Coordinate the planning and organisation of various side events (as a complement to the main plenary), such as technical workshops and site visits by various agencies.
2. Provision of privileges and immunities (P&Is) and visa waivers for governmental representatives, IPCC staff members and experts attending the SR Cities Approval Plenary.

2. Good verbal and written communication skills
3. Keen interest in environmental/climate change resilience issues
4. Good stakeholder management skills
5. Prior experience in event planning and project maangement will be useful
