What the role is

The Social Support Group oversees the operations involved in providing support for lower-income and vulnerable individuals and families, to move them towards stability, self-reliance and social mobility. The Operations Data team under the Operations Planning Division in the Social Support Group oversees and leverages data to inform decision-making and enhance social service delivery.

What you will be working on

(i) Use geospatial data to analyse operations/policy lines of inquiry and develop insights for application; (ii) Support the adoption and use of geospatial analytics across teams to inform decisions; and (iii) Contribute towards making the geospatial data environment conducive for the Group’s needs. Responsibilities: (i) Execute geospatial projects, e.g., to guide how best to locate services and deploy case workers/volunteers to reach vulnerable client archetypes; (ii) Engage various teams to understand their geospatial needs and use cases, and guide their use of geospatial solutions where need be; and (iii) Develop geospatial practices, e.g., geospatial data management and utilisation.

What we are looking for

Functional/Technical competencies: (i) Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Geospatial Science/Technology, Computer Sciences, Engineering or equivalent, or have relevant work experience. (ii) Knowledge in the use of geospatial software such as QGIS or ArcGIS. (iii) Knowledge in the use of geospatial analysis techniques and methodologies, e.g., proximity, hotspot, overlay and network analysis, and programming language, e.g., Python. Generic competencies: (i) Strong analytical skills (ii) Good interpersonal skills (iii) Team player who takes initiative at work
