Snr/Assistant Director(Strategic Messaging & Engagement), Comms & Engagement Div

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior/Assistant Director (Strategic Messaging and Engagement), Communications and Engagement Division. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in communicating MTI’s policies to external stakeholders such as the business community, industry players, and the general public. You will work in partnership with the policy teams in MTI and colleagues in MTI’s statutory boards, to formulate and implement communications strategies in order to profile MTI’s efforts in developing a vibrant and dynamic Singapore economy.

Key Responsibilities • Provide advice on the strategic communications approach for MTI’s policies. This will include identifying the target audience(s) for the policy, the key messages that would resonate with each target audience, and the communications and engagement channels to reach out to each target audience. You may also have to prepare press releases and/ or work on infographics; • Engage in research and data analysis to better understand sentiments on issues such as the outlook on the Singapore economy, awareness and support levels for various economic initiatives, as well as the effectiveness of Government schemes for businesses, and take these into consideration when developing/ refining the communications approach and/ or key messages for MTI’s policies; • Support political office holders for events.

• Relevant field of study in Social Sciences, Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, Economics, etc.; • Relevant work experience in strategic communications, marketing communications, media relations or public relations; • Interest in public sector policy matters, economic issues and current affairs; • Good project management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment; • Strong proficiency in the English language, both spoken and written; • Proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage.
